The Scope and Objectives (S&O) is a process whereby Senior Coldwater Technology staff work with you to identify the issues you face and develop a high level plan with anticipated ROI for the Project. The S&O establishes the parameters and goals of the Project, workflows and integration points, if any. Following the S&O you may choose to engage Coldwater Technology to further develop a functional specification of the overall Project.
The Functional Specification utilizes the S&O to more thoroughly define the objectives and translate those into meaningful processes required by the Project. The Functional Specification augments the S&O with any requirements of hardware, software, operating environments or overall process changes. This step ensures the objectives are well defined and a final Project requirements document is created.
The Detailed Specification spells out the actual User Interface (UI) and program logic required for any enhanced features defined in the Functional Speciation. These details include actual screen definitions, calculations, input and output data as well as integration methodology where necessary. The end result of this process is a detailed road map of all requirements to meet both the Functional Specifications and the S&O as defined during the Project review.
